Baby-a-GoGo

by Sean on January 21, 2010

With a little less than a month to go until baby numero uno arrives, the pressure is on to get the nursery in order.  We have tirelessly been working towards completing the painting and decorating.  Our theme is 1920′s-1950′s vintage baby and we’ve spent the last nine months collecting all kinds of baby items, everything from sheep shaped planters to a vintage pram.

We are expecting a surprise, so our color pallette is neutral – shades of yellow, green, blue, and brown.  Since it is a nursery and we feel it is good to get started on the right foot environmentally we are using No VOC paint with No VOC colorant.  The only manufacturer we were able to find that offered this option is Freshaire and is easily available at The Home Depot.  One of the many advantages of NO VOC paint is that mom can paint too!  I know, I know – I am allowing my pregnant wife to paint.  Believe me, she would wants to be painting.  We chose Slender Reed for the walls and Tranquil Pond for the ceiling.  Doesn’t it sound refreshing?  We are painting the furniture a light green color called Northern Pear.  After the remake, my former office should be a calming place for mom, dad, and baby to relax.  We are trying to stay away from chaotic primary color Fisher Price inspired madness.

February 16th is the due date.  How close to the date do you think the delivery will be?  Is it going to be a boy or girl?  Lisa thinks boy, I think girl.  We are excited about either – or both (?).

Here is a look at the room before the remake.

Here is a photo of us slaving away – not really, we are having fun.

Our other babies trying out the new bassinet (new to us)!

Currently, it is a lovely mess.  I’ll let Lisa do the reveal in the next couple weeks.

Wait, somehow I remember hearing about a baby on the way but how did we get to the due date already?

So I guess this means you won’t make it to the February Sunday Morning Market in Seminole Heights right? I’ll be holding my breath and checking back for the big announcement.

Yes – very soon! The 16th is the official date, however they say the first one is usually a week and a day late. We are hoping to make it to the Sunday Morning Market, however this month may be a challenge. We’ll find out soon enough! :)

Thanks Sean! Robin, a local graphic artist (Greener Pixels) and I came up with the logo after a few jam sessions.

Looking forward to seeing the newest addition to the family (upon arrival that is)!

WooooHooooo!!! I’m sure that Lisa is happy to have that part over with – now let the fun begin!! I’ll watch for the family at the Lakeland home tour or over here for the Sunday Morning Market on the 14th!

I have to ask though, where will the other “babies” sleep now that the bassinet is in use full-time?

Congrats Again!
