We recently had the pleasure of driving through Rockledge, Florida on the way to Cocoa Beach for a “last” weekend away.  We called it our last weekend away because the baby was due the following week.  We are happy to report we are the proud new parents of a beautiful baby girl named Kathryn Elizabeth.  We will share more about her and her new digs (nursery) in an upcoming post.  In the meantime, take a drive through Rockledge with us.

Lisa and I love home tours almost as much as working on our own home.   We enjoy dropping in to see how others live in their spaces.  They are a huge inspiration for our future projects and holiday tours are especially fun.  Many serve holiday refreshments like hot apple cider and cookies.  Cookies (or cupcakes) may be next in line to home tours in our list of favorite things.  Combine the two and we’ll be there.

For our wedding anniversary weekend, we went to tour gorgeous Sanford, Florida for their night home tour and Palatka, Florida for their day home tour.  We had never heard of Palatka, Florida before learning about their home tour, however we are always up for an adventure and a new town to explore was the perfect solution for an enjoyable anniversary weekend.

Sadly, we fought rain and clouds for most of the weekend.  Here are some of our favorite shots that weren’t ruined by rain drops or cloudy skies.  Like I have mentioned before, we are die hards and rain does not scare us away.

As you know – our love of houses extends far and wide.  This past weekend our house hunting took us to the Historic Homes Tour in College Park.  Here are a few of our favorites…

But although the weather was beautiful and the houses were lovely, our favorite part of the tour was the yard sale we happened upon…we found a darling chair that had to come home with us and a happy little owl that will probably also make his way into our home.  We’ll be sharing these special treasures sometime soon!  Until then…

‘Tis the season’ for home tours.  Lisa and I are avid home tour fans and during this time of year we are busy nearly every weekend traveling the Central Florida Historic Home Tour Circuit.  Home Tours are a great way to gather decorating ideas, design tips, and best of all a wonderful way to meet other old home enthusiasts.
